Regency Hospital Company Opens Hospital in Arkansas

Alpharetta, Georgia, December 3, 2003–Regency Hospital Company today announced the opening of its eighth hospital, Regency Hospital of Northwest Arkansas located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Regency Hospital is a 25-bed hospital located within Washington Regional Medical Center’s North College Campus. Regency owns and operates long-term acute care (LTAC) hospitals that treat medically complex patients who have suffered recent catastrophic illness or injury and require an extended length of stay in an acute care environment.

Steve Lampkin, CEO of Washington Regional, stated, “We are excited about the opening of Regency Hospital of Northwest Arkansas which will expand the continuum of care available on our campus to allow us to better meet the healthcare needs of our community. There is a great need for this care in our area.”

Regency Hospital Company has appointed Mr. Mike McLean, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital. “Mike McLean is an excellent administrator. He brings years of experience in hospital operations. His vast healthcare experience, coupled with his knowledge of what it takes to make a great clinical program, make him an excellent leader for this hospital,” stated Mr. Laughlin.

The hospital began taking patients on Tuesday, November 18th. A grand opening celebration is being planned to introduce the hospital to the healthcare community in the next few months.
